Version Upgrades
SOFGEN has extensive experience in upgrading clients to newer versions of their core banking systems. These years of experience result in well planned, timely, and efficient upgrades.
SOFGEN will:
- Help the customer decide upon an upgrade strategy. Whether the upgrade should be purely technical or whether functional and technical enhancements should be mixed will depend largely on balancing the bank´s needs for new functionality against the time period for which enhancements would have to be frozen.
- Manage risk − because of our position in the market, we are well placed to know, from a functional perspective, the strengths and weaknesses of various releases and how these map against the functionality being used by the bank. From an organizational perspective, we help the bank to interact with the vendor, and we have in the past brokered the provision of on-site support, in order to ensure adequate critical error turnaround times, particularly in the immediate post "Go Live" timeframe.
- Substitute customizations with standard functionality wherever possible. We review customization needs in great detail with the goal of maximizing the use of standard functions, resulting in reduced maintenance and lower TCO.
- Document the customizations to simplify future maintenance and support, User Acceptance Testing and rollout to the production system.
- Provide training on new business and technical features.
- Test migrations to ensure that planned conversions (timing, etc.) are acceptable.
- Provide regression testing where this is required
- Provide support during the User Acceptance Test, rollout to production and post-live periods.
